Painting flawless skin
Permalink

Hello. I am another one of the newbies here. I have been looking at and studying the different dolls people have done. I know it will be a LONG time, if ever, that I will make a flawless doll. But how do "they" paint the doll skin that looks so REAL? Is it many layers?

I am just amazed at some of the dolls I see. They're so real looking you can't tell the difference between real and a doll.

  Thank you!

Welcome to our little family forum Montana! We are always glad to have newbies come in. You are right, it takes some a long time to do flawless, if ever. I don't think it's a matter of flawless as much as "realistic". I have been creating reborns for over 6 years now, and I'm a factory certified reborning teacher. I don't think I still have the "flawless" down to a science lol. It just comes with time and patience IMO.

Just use our search feature at the top of the page to find whatever you want to study before/while reborning. there are over 30,000 comments and topics in here. Lots of reading :D

montana, its as pat said not flawless but realistic.........and a baby you see that is awesome its reborner could point out flaws you or i wouldn't have noticed......as a reborner i'm realy guilty of being super aware of my babies littlest boo boo........the skin is is created in several layers useing different techniques ......such as berry makers, sea sponges ,cosmetic sponges and brushs......ita also a matter of keeping your paint VERY thin and blending......we all were newbies so hang in there..........sage

Hi ladies, I am new here and would like to know how and what to do to prevent the horrible chalky look my reborn has. I used very thin paint? with odorless thinners. This is not my first reborn but I have not made one for2 years so I think I have lost the plot. Any help would be grateful and thanks in advance.

Thank you
