Im new to this just got my starter kit using white oderless mineral sprits to thin paint it seems to leave white spots and wash out paint color when I ad enough to make paint as thin and watery as the video show should I be adding something to it to help thin paint out and not lighten the paint color so with the white mineral sprits. I did order some clear oderless paint thinner so I might just have to wait a few days till it gets here UGH, unless I can get advice and help with my issue

Hey there Chicntexas and welcome to our family forum. We are glad to have you here and hope you get the hang of things soon. It takes practice.
As far as "white" thinner, I'm not sure what you are referring to. Is it actually white, cloudy, or actually clear?
Also, you should only be adding not more than 40% thinner to your paints otherwise they may not become permanent after baking. If you go to the top of the forum page you will see the word "search". Click on that word and then type in your subject. It will bring up all the topic threads in our forum, then just look through them to see if there is already an answer to your questions.

As far as the paint leaving white spots, this is usually a case of applying too much to the doll part. Our paints are made to go on thin but if you get too much paint on you may get the dreaded "chalkies" when it is baked. You can also use "search" to find out more information for this.

Also... what type of heat-set paints are you using? If you are using the AR paints, then the reason you may be having issues is because they already contain thinner and do not need more. Let me know. In this topic thread I have posted the types of paints and the way they should be used. Click on one of them and check it out and see if that helps you too.
