hiya, welcome to our little family.... i usually do a flesh layer first and then i do the blue undertones, but this is my preference, others probably do it different, you could try the search, put in blue undertones and see if anything comes up, i hope this is of help to you xx

Ok, first thing hun... with the Secrist vinyl, you probably want to put the periwinkle blue on the inside. I take it you don't have the DVD. This shows how to apply the blue undertones to your vinyl. As Carol said, you can always use our search feature.
On other than Secrist vinyl, it doesn't need the blue on the inside as the "other" vinyls are not made translucent like Secrist vinyl is so it is not necessary. In that case the artists usually apply it in spots on the outside of the vinyl, just where the baby would have thin skin, then start doing your other layers over that. I have done it both ways but prefer the Secrist vinyl.

As far as removing 1 layer of paint, I believe I had already answered that in another thread hun. You may want to go look in one of your other posts, and I will too.

Thankyou so much for the advice.I'm panicking now though as I've already done a layer of flesh on the doll as I didn't realise I had to paint inside first.would you recommend stripping the doll to do this r would it be ok to paint the inside while the outside still has the flesh layer on it.I'm really sorry about all the questions,I'm going to have to buy the DVD,I have other DVD,s but off eBay and they don't show this, thankyou so much for everyones advice, you are really helpful on here, sarah

You are welcome hun. Don't panic! It's ok, you can still do the inside even if you have many layers on the outside. You don't have to strip anything (whew! I bet you're glad of that lol). Only thing is to be careful not to get any drips on the outside as the inner paint is blue and blue and red paints take faster than any others. I would wrap a wet paper towel around the outside of the part you are doing the inner painting on, and be sure to let the parts drain.

If you go to the search at the top of the forum page and click on it, you can type in any word and then click or hit enter, it should bring up all the topics that are about that subject and you can look through them to find what you need hun.
Buying the DVD will help you a lot on starting reborning. You can find it and other items at www.secristdolls.com.

Are you baking at 130 FAHRENHEIT? Or Celsius? 130 is for Celsius temps. There's a thread with more info.

Hi thankyou for the thread.I'm baking at 130 celsius in a convection oven.the doll has been baked 3 times and the paint still seems to come off.the weird thing is there doesn't seem to be any paint on the q tip when I've rubbed the doll parts but it has faded where I rub on the doll

Do you know if your kit is vinyl, vinyl/silicone mix, or silicone? If it's silicone, then you have to use other paints specifically for silicone, not heat set paints.

You're welcome hun. If it's the Secrist Squeaky kit then it is only vinyl, no mixes.
