There are no Mona Lisa, Archival, Bob Ross or other famous odorless thinners available in my country. The UK and US sellers don't ship to Europe due to the restriction of toxic liquids. The only odorless solvent what I can buy in the local or online stores is the Talens Odorless White Spirit. Have you ever heard about it? Would it be suitable for GHSP?
Of course, but there are just very low quality products, we are little and poor country, the ordinary artists have no money for the quality accessories here. I explored all artist supplies shops, but I didn't find the mentioned brands even the Hungarian (and the nearby countries') online stores. The best quality is the Talens and the Lefranc&Burgeois what I can buy. Liz
p.s. Meanwhile the Archival is not availabe even on Ebay
Thanks for your comment, as we are all over the world it is hard to know where someone lives to give them the valiable information they are looking for. Sorry I wasn't of any help this time. XXXXX June.
I don't know which of the heat set paints you have chosen, but if you use the premixed paints you will only need thinner for the inner wash which is not actually seen on the finished doll. Using the best thinner you have available may be all right for that. Just a thought.
I think as long as it says "low odor" or "ldorless" thinner (not solvent) on it, it should be ok. You may want to contact "Genesis paint company" to find out if the thinners you have available in your country/area are compatable with the heat-set paints. Genesis is the maker of ALL heat-set paints no matter who you purchase them from. But they would be the experts on compatability. Let us know how you get on then. :D
i buy my odorless thinner or oderless mineral spirits for my local hardware store ,i 've never had an issue with it and my babies sell from ppl seeing them out in public. take a look there ........sage
Thank you girls, it seems the problem is resolved. I found Bob Ross thinner at a German seller, now it's on its way to me :) I read somewhere it's also great for Genesis.
