I had a registered name here in Australia, but if it is only a hobby and your not making a living from it, Over $50.000 over here than it does not need to be registered, I would go through Secrets users and check out there user names, so you dont have one the same. I made mine up out of four of my childrens 1st 2 initials. SA ...Samantha. RA.... Rachel, then ZA... Zane and TA.... Tamara, Making it SARA ZATA. Heavens Angles because one of my children, Ihope, is in heaven. XXXXXX June.

The reason, I want to register it, is because I am going to be using it for my web site. I do not want anyone else to use the name. Thanks for the help.

You could also look up in the trademark (TM) website and legally register it. For a fee they will do a search. There are national and international laws I believe. You'd have to check. Just google trademark and you should get lots of information you can look through. I don't think it's as much to TM as it is to copyright though.
You may also want to check other doll forums. We had a guy in our forum that was using someone elses nursery name. Don't know what ever happened on that one, just know the original owner was angry about it.
