Are the Newborn Brand Doll Eyes by Secrist also heat resistant? Can they be used in polymer sculpts? The info on the website is a little unclear about the Newborn Brand though it does state that the Real Eyes brand is safe to use with polymer.
Yes, the Newborn Brand doll eyes are actually the same as the Real Eyes brand, just the newborn colors. Apparently they changed the name to make the colors more specific to the newborns IMHO.
They go by the same rules as the Real Eyes. Yes, you may use them in polymer clay per the website information. Mr Secrist is the one who invented them and they are produced right in his factory. However, the oval eyes are NOT the same.

Thank you for the information, Pat. I'm looking forward to trying the newborn eyes in my next sculpt. Lydia
I have been using the Real Eyes brand for over 20 years now. I just love them. And when they came out with the newborn colors... I was all over that. I used to make porcelain dolls and use those eyes for them as they were so very lifelike! I'm sure you'll like them.
Darn! I just realized that I can't use these with Living Doll. They can only tolerate heat up to 270, correct? The Living Doll Clay needs to be baked at 275. How many times can these be reheated before they will be adversely effected. I'll have to go back to Cernit so I can use the eyes but with that clay I bake at lower temps then add to the sculpt and reheat often.
Hi, Living Doll is Prosculpt or so I been told. It does look and act like prosculpt and is made by Polyform also. It needs to be cured at 275 just like Prosculpt has to.So I have to look into other eyes or clays.
Ok, no, your Living Doll clay is not Prosculpt. Prosculpt is made by Jack Johnston of Jack Johnston Artdolls. IfThe you go to www.artdolls.com you can check it out. Jack is the inventor/creator of the Prosculpt. It comes in several colors and is the top of the line for sculpting. The clays made by polyform are not the same quality but are similar. I use both Sculpy by Polyform and Prosculpt by Artdolls.
