HEY, WANT TO GO TO LUNCH???  As you know, I'm a real newbie at reborning, but I really do love doing it.  I am probably not alone, but I find this to be somewhat of a lonesome art.  I spend lots of time in my "studio" bent over under a light obsessing over whether or not that spot of blush is too dark, or the shadow in that dimple really shows.  And then there are the things I really need to learn from someone, like ROOTING!!  So am I out of line here in suggesting that we try to compile a list of:
                                - Classes
                                - Groups to meet with
                                - Get-togethers
or just names organized by geography of other people who might want to link up.  For example, I live just south of Seattle, WA.  I've done extensive internet research and can't find any other reborners or classes at all in this area.  The closest I've been able to come is a nursery in southeast Oregon, and I did send her an email.  But I am certain I can't be the only human living and breathing in and around Seattle who is interested in this.  I don't know the best way to create this "network", but I think we would all enjoy it.  smilewinksmileaww

Hmmm, I posted a long reply here and now it's gone. Must be a glitch in the system again. Or maybe it's my computer as usual. Now I'll have to remember what I said. Darn it! I'll be back to post on this later. *shrugs*

Ok, what I think I said was...
I too feel like this is a lonesome art. Although if you sell your reborns like I (try to) do, there are LOTS out there. We are alone together lol. I also obsess about my babies but I have to some times step away or I'll go too far and muck it up. KWIM?
You are not out of line with your suggestion but some of the info is already available. Like the who lives where is under the "list all users" tab at the top of the page by search.
Also. some that teach classes are listed in the upcoming events and classes. I'm sure that Andrea posted that she lives about an hour away from you hun. I'm surprised that you didn't jump on that with how much you want to reborn with someone else. If I lived out by you and her we could make a bi-weekly trip, I know I would!

I think if people know that they can find others by using the list all users feature they might to find others in their area. Give it a go eh?

Hey, Pat, unless I'm doing it wrong, I don't see an option to see who lives where, other than a broad USA option. Is there a way to narrow it down?

Ok, I suppose it might be different on mine cause I'm the mod but I have up on the red bar on top:
Home, List all users, Search, User details, and Calendar. All of them are clickable. What do you have at the top of your page where the search bar is?

We all seem to have "List All Users", but it only lists names and the country they are from.  When you click on each name it will then tell you where they are from.

So to find someone in my area, I'd have to click individual names? Ugh. Wouldn't it be simpler to just make a thread about it and share? :)

One way to find someone close to you is go to Ebay.  Type in Reborn Dolls and then after the list comes up look in the upper right corner.  They give you the option to sort by "Geographical Distance"  Then when the list sorts it will tell you how far away each poster is from you home in miles.  If you find someone close to you then you go to where you can send them a question and introduce yourself.

Of course this doesn't get you to any and all reborners in your area, only the ones who have something on Ebay.  But at least it is something.
