Oh my goodness how i am beginning to hate evilbay! In recent days how is everyone doing on ebay? Are the fees killing you too? I sold some babies in the last weeks and I'm telling you it seems that between ebay and paypal they are getting about 1/3 of what I'm selling them for!furious Oh man how frustrating. Not to mention, I just found out that because of the size of the box (which some clown put in the wrong dimensions), UPS charged me the additional rate of a 55lb shipment PLUS a fuel surcharge! Can you believe that? I called them and complained and they said they were going to change it by putting in the correct dimensions of the box. Well, lo and behold I check my paypal balance this morning only to find out UPS charged me that fee anyway! IN ADDITION to the shipping fee they charge me when I shipped the baby! I tell you it surely has been quite the week. I also had a woman who tried to pull the wool over my eyes to adopt one of my babies. I offer payment arrangements but a non-refundable deposit is required at the end of the auction. Well, she won the bid of the baby and then I didn't hear from her. I emailed her letting her know payment arrangements need to be made and the deposit is due. She finally gets back to me with an excuse that pretty much says whenever my money comes through I'll pay you. confuse Um what? I checked her feedback and found she had just sold a baby on the same day she asked me if i would accept two payments. Well, you can draw your own conclusions on that one, but needless to say, she didn't pay or answer my other emails. I ended up filing a unpaid item case and baby sold to the next bidder via second chance. Two days later she finally responds upset saying I was unfair. I reminded her to read the details of the auction and in fact the questions asked by bidders (including herself) that I posted at the end of the auction gave all the information of the payment arrangements. Well, haven't heard from her again so far.

      Anyone have these experiences??? I've started checking out Etsy and may consider putting my next babies up there and see what happens. Has anyone had any good sales or sales at all on Etsy lately? I read some of the earlier posts on Etsy and it seems like it might be a reborn graveyard. Sorry if that sounds bad, I just mean babies seem to sit there and never sell. There are a lot less reborns there, but do they sell? Well, I'm going now. Time to squabble with UPS about the sneaky stealing of my money. Oh and another thing....is it just me or what?......but.....why is it that I have to wait to get my money from sales via paypal but these clowns and ebay themselves can help themselves? Ebay snatches fees out sooner that indicated too! Good thing so far I've been able to cover them. Just sucks because I can't buy kits until all gets sorted outdisbelief

Hiya Emily,
i know what you are saying about Ebay, the Fees are terrible i had someone pay me recently by echeque which took as long as a cheque to clear so much for saying only paypal please, but by the time everyone has has their fees you do end up with a lot less than you would have liked for your baby.
i find myself getting a bit dishartend when you get to the end of your auction and somones only bid 25.00 for your baby or even nothing makes me think maybe my babies aren't really that good so ive given it a brake over Christmas.

I know what you mean. I just hate that there are so many fees. Well, it's a good thing I love this craft or else I think I would see things in a much more negative light. Don't get discouraged though perhaps things will look up in the spring. A break is good sometimes. Hope you have a Happy New Yearsmile

This is why I have had second thoughts of putting my babies up on evilbay! Everything I hear about them is bad. Doesn't anyone ever have anything good to say about them? I don't think I've EVER read anything good as far as they are concerned. :(

I have had my Etsy account for about a year. Sold a few kits (the 6" minis) but nothing else. I have had my dolls on there seems like forever (mine was probably the post you were speaking of lol). I think maybe I've sold like 5 kits in that year. Pretty sad and disheartening. Doll graveyard sounds more like it (even if it's weird). People love them but don't want to buy them. I even lowered my adoption price and still no. Hmmm... there's gotta be somewhere where we can successfully sell our babies. Any ideas?

Me too! My porcelains sold better than this! Of course that was long ago. It just gets frustrating. I'm not giving away my babies I worked so hard on. If I put them on evilbay, I'm going to also make a point of them being signed by the sculptors (as they are!) so maybe someone will like the work I did AND get the benefit of having them not only signed by the artist (me) but also the sculptor! Maybe that will give them a boost :)
