I've been painting my two babies using Authentic Reborn Paint. I carefully bake them at exactly 165 - I've been using two oven thermometers to be sure. I leave them in for 8 minutes. But the paint comes off .
For example, I was putting eyes into my finished preemie and he is so small it was difficult. When I had finished "manhandling" him to get them in, all the paint was off all around his eyes and I had to do it all over. I've also noticed if I rub the dolls too hard the paint comes off. Now this can be beneficial if I need to erase a mistake, but I really do want the paint to stay on. HELP!!
poppycat, you have to bake the babies on .....265 for 8 minutes..........10 for matte varnish ...........this may be why the paint is comeing off........sage
BUT, I just read that you shouldn't bake with eyes in, and I just got my eyes in and glued!! If I put her in at 265 for 8 minutes will the eyes or glue melt?
If you are using the Secrist Real Eyes they will be ok. But the glue can't go in the oven hun. Do you have a heat gun? I don't normally recommend it for an entire doll but in this case you might have to.
