Hi everyone. Okay, I've just kinda finished my first baby, Raine. But the problem I'm having using Authentic Reborn paint is not shiny baby, but way too matte baby. He just doesn't have that nice "moistness" that a newborn baby's skin has. Should I be using a Moist Glaze Medium with my paints? What percentage? Other than that, I think he looks great. Oh yeah, the other prob I'm having is for some reason the paint won't "stick" to the lips, even after time in the oven. I'm confused Brooke
Oh my! Very matte eh? Well, have you tried rubbing the parts gently with a terry cloth towel? See if that makes a difference.
Sometimes (like with some BB kits, or the pink tone kits) there is an issues with paint not sticking. Some people put a light layer of matte varnish on that area and bake. Then when they attempt it again it usually works.
Hello Ladies, I have a question ,and I'm not even sure if I'm posting it in the right place. However, here goes anyway. My question is this I'm about to create my first ever red headed baby ,definately not my first baby, but my first redhead. My question is what colors of paint do you use to paint red eyebrows or do redheads usually have blond eyebrows? I'm needing to know ,and I figured that this was the best place to get answers. Because of all of you very talented and knowlagable ladies on this forum. So if anyone can help me with this question I would be very greatful. Thanks & Hugs, Amanda
I usually get the premixed eyebrow paint but here goes... try mixing brown with some flesh 08 with just a pin tip of red. Just experiment with your paints to see what combinations work best.
Redheads can have dark reddish blonde to brassy red eyebrows depending on what "red" their hair is. Or you can take some of your red hair to an art store and try to match a Prismacolor pencil to it and pencil your brows on. :)
Hi Pat, Thanks for the suggestion. Do you ,by any chance, know if there is a premixed eyebrow color for red eyebrows. If there is, that's what I will use. . Thanks, Amanda
I think they usually have like a streawberry blonde colour, mayby you could try a bit of med brown and a little reddish colour, I know when I paint and have red hair, I usually use a light brown. That's on both porcelain and reborns. XXXXXX June.
Well I thought they had some type of red in the eyebrow stuff (paint/pencils) but I guess not. Although I did notice Sienna brown which is more of a warm reddish brown. If you have that paint you can prob mix it with some flesh 08. Here is the link: http://www.secristdolls.com/eyebrows When I experiment with colors I usually do it on a paper towel or a palett. You don't need much, just a dab of paint. Sorry if I wasn't more help hun.
Hi Ladies, Thanks so much for the advice. I'll just play around with some of these ideas ,and see what looks the best. I'll let everyone know how the baby's eyebrows turn out. Thanks again for the help. Hugs, Amanda
