Wow! Just sold doll on ebay and she relisted it at twice price!

noI have only been making reborn dolls for about 8 months.  Truthfully I don't know if this is normal to get kinda attached to them.  But my heart sank when I just saw my beautiful Trey doll at twice the price and hair cut different- changed from a boy to a girl . But here is the weird thing she named the doll after me!!! She did give me credit for making the doll.  She put my nursery name on it.  I am tempted to buy it back!  Why do I feel so weird?  Has this happened too anyone else.  I guess alot of people but the dolls just to resale.

I saw the auction for her. Wow I have to say i would be a bit upset as well only because of the quick turn around to resell her and the price she is getting so far for her, but would also try and learn from it. Checking out how she decribes, posed and displayed the doll in her auction.  I would think it is the way she presented her in the auction that attracts buyers. It does seem to make a difference. I wouldn't worry about buying her back, just take this experience and grow from it. JMHO

Yes Tina- Thanks I have calmed down a bit. It wasn't the selling- it was that she changed the doll, named her after me- odd- maybe she has dementia or soomething- sorry that wasn't nice. I want to get an engraver or something to label my dolls-so if passed from here to Tibet they will still say my name on their neck forever!!! Ok... I feel better. Thanks

Well first... congrats on selling one of your babies!
Some people do buy them to make a profit. If they see something in the baby that they think will get them back their money they spent on it plus more, then I think they jump in with both feet. I think it's good that they didn't lie and say they made it, plus gave your nursery name so maybe others will like the baby and come looking for your nursery, it's a good thing!

As far as the feeling weird, sad, attached, etc... I think all of us go through that, or have gone through it at one point or another. Some have even felt they made a mistake by selling the one they felt they bonded with. But I do think it's a little weird to have named the baby after you, hmmmm.
And I suppose they might have to change it up a bit just in case someone saw your auction and then hers with the same doll. Of course that person would know how much she paid for it then.

But, it will be ok, just remember you made a sale! Do you sign your babies? I wouldn't go so far as to get an engraver but do use a permanent marking pen and sign the vinyl. We have had a recent forum discussion on it.
