My best advice is to get a dvd or a book on painting reborns. We are here to help if you have questions or problems after you watch the dvd's but we are not here to teach you how to reborn from scratch in this forum.
I think most of the people in forum are using the heat set paints. The Jo Sonjas dry pretty fast, like the air dry paints. I know a few artists that use/used them. Good if you can keep up or maybe use a retarder.
But maybe someone else in forum will have some advice for you that will help. Or... search out reborning methods in google. :)
I agree with Pat, a dvd is a great way to get started but if you can't get one at the moment then a google search or youtube might give you a few ideas. There's alot of different techniques out there if you have the time to look about. The forum is a great place to go igf you need help or have a question. Everyone is so friendly here. Alot of question can be answered in a forum search. About the paints you bought, I can't help much there, I use heat set paints myself, I never cared for the air dry, like Pat said they set up pretty fast.
i wasn't really asking for help on how but more like tips, any that could save me and my reborn some heartache! Sorry about that but it was very late or early and i was up working x

Oh... well if it's tips and tricks you seek, like Tina W said, do a search. Our forum has a good search feature, just put in a word or 2 that you seek info on (mottling, chalkies, stuffing, etc) and you'll come up with so many that you won't believe your eyes. We have over 250 members in our forum and they are very friendly and helpful. But do a search and try it out. :) And since you're new... hello and welcome! :)
I love our search feature! And the tips and tricks are really helpful in trying to understand what your doing..... For me I read all the topics that I could and while I waited for my dvds and such I did research on here on various things I wanted to know... Again Welcome!

Welcome to the forum, Susannah! We're glad you are here. Like Tina said, doing a search on a particular subject is a great way to find instant information on common topics that have already been discussed.
Our forum has a wide variety of members of all ages. There are beginners through professional level reborners so the chances are good that you will find answers to your questions about reborning using heat set paints, Secrist doll kits, sculpting, etc.
Although your moderators have personally purchased kits and supplies from other companies, we recommend contacting them to ask questions about products that are not available from Secrist or Apple Valley Dolls.
We love to see your work so please post your photos in the Artist Showcase.
Again, welcome!
Linda
