a countertop oven?

Hi, I am a new member and have gone through the pages looking for a countertop oven to use on the dolls.  I've checked ebay for some and am confused now.  Most of them are convection/toaster/rotisserie etc.  I can't find a plain old oven for bake only.  Am I that far behind the times?  Could someone recommend one by brand and model please?  Thank you,  Darla1

biggrin   i use a roaster that they sell at walmart for about 20.00, i use a different rack then the one that came with it but it realy works a treat.           sage   aww

Thank you for responding to my question.  Please tell me what brand it is or how I can identify this roaster.  Also, do you put towels under the parts to be baked and do you use it outdoors?  I am wanting to make these for my self and do not plan to sell them.  I have been making soft dolls for 40 years and really wanted to try this.  I bought a kit from B B with closed eyes, and I can't wait to start!  Thank you.  Darla

biggrin   it's a general electric,white roaster. you could use tin foil , i was out of tin foil so i used a hand towel. use one you don't care about cos they do darken due to the heat. some people use poly fill.                                   sage  aww

Welcome to our forum Darla.

The usual countertop ovens we recommend are not roasters. They are fully functional "ovens" but are mini size. I have a Hamilton Beach, almost bought a Black & Decker. There are several brands.
These ovens have many settings: bake, rotisserie, convection (which is NOT recommended to bake babies), broil. Some have 1 shelf and some have 2. Usually cost around $50-$150. Do always use a thermometer in it when you bake your babies as knob temps are not always accurate. It's more of a convenience thing. If you go to the top of the page, you'll find the search link. Just type in countertop oven and it should bring up lots of stuff. I know there are many many posts on this subject. Even some pics for you to see.

Sorry Sage but we don't recommend roasters or aluminum foil but I'm glad it works for you hun.

Usually we use parchment paper (baking paper from the grocery store/bakery), a tea towel, or like Sage said, polyfil.
