Hi there, I was wondering if anyone knew if it is possible to bake a doll kit with the eyes not installed in the head yet? Do I have to put the eyes in first or can I save that for after i'm done painting and baking? Thankyou so much!
do save the eyes for after your painting snd bakeing, other wise you'll get paint on the eyes and or melt them. looking foreward to seeing your baby. sage
It depends on what brand of eyes they are. If they are Real Eyes Brand doll eyes by Secrist, they can be baked. I don't believe any other eye on the market can be bake like Real Eyes. However, like Sage said, you want to be very very careful that you don't get ANYTHING on them before you bake as it will ruin them.
With newbies we usually say to leave them out till last, right before rooting. :)
Actually, I've found there are other brands of eyes that can be baked but you need to check the product information to make sure the eyes can withstand the heat before baking.
However... Secrist's Real Eyes/Newborn Eyes are the most economical and realistic eyes on the market, and they are made in the USA.

It would be best to e-mail Stephanie and ask her what kind of eyes they are before doing any baking with them in. I believe she used to use Real Eyes but not sure if she still does.
I'm 99% sure that you can bake the eyes that Stephanie pre-inserts in her kits. Knowing Stephanie, it wouldn't make sense that she would insert eyes that cannot be baked.
