Does anyone know what product will make a baby's skin look moist? I've purchased the Authentic reborn moist glaze but I really don't see a difference. I use it strait out of the jar and apply it with a cosmetic sponge then bake it for 8 min. I've seen babies on ebay with that moist skin and I'd love to find the secret. Thanks for any advice!
Are you speaking of the moisture in the mouth and nose, etc.? When you say moist skin, I think of how hard we try to avoid making shiny babies.
You can try Aleene's Paper Glaze, but make sure you are done with the painting because you cannot put it in the oven or heat it. Many reborners use a coating of this over the eye to give it more realism.
Let us know where you want the moisture and let's see what advice we get from the others.

The moist skin would be primarily for the really newborn babies. It's not what I would call shiny, but moist looking. I do use paper glaze for the eyelids and lips and some inside the nostrils. This would not work for the moist look I was looking for. Thanks for responding..
It's me again. I should probably say I'm looking for a textured look and at the same time it looks moist. Thanks for responding...Look forward to any advice :)
Secrist does have a texture glaze for the skin I believe. I usually use the glazing gel for the lids and lips. I don't do anything in the nostrils as I've never seen a real baby with a wet nose unless they were sick. So I'm not the one to ask on that part. Some people use the paper glaze for the lips to make them really shiny. I use it for highlight spots and slobbers on the lips in places, not all over. So I do the glazing gel first and the hit n miss on the lips.

i was told recently by a reborn artist who's teaches class' that you can get that moist look by mixing glazeing gel, thinning medium and paint. i haven't tryed it yet but plan to.i'm just concerned baby might look shiny but then again i'm a nervous nelly. sage
I'm with you, Sage. I would be afraid it would look too shiny. I would try the matte varnish if you want a sort of dewy textured look. I heard the Genesis matte varnish has changed ever so slightly to produce that appearance.
