I recently made and sold my first baby. My ten yr old daughter wanted to take her out with us when we went shopping. There were two little old ladies pointing and whispering at my daughter while she was carrying the baby. I went over to them and asked "Do you like the Doll? I made it" One of them looked at me and said, " oh what a relief, we were talking about how sad it was she had a baby at that age!" lol

Oh thank you all so much! I will definately keep you posted on the next trip. I have a family reunion coming up in two weeks and I'm thinking of bringing my next one with me. Hummm I'm a bit nervous as there will be ALOT more people! I'm rooting her hair right now so hopefully she'll be complete. I'll post a few pics in works in progress if your like to take a look at where I am. Thanks again! OOXX

That it too just too funny. They boughter her right there? Sage is right starting a new one always helps when you sell one. You do get quite attached during the process and don't even realize it.
Emily and Kristi, I just loved reading about your experiences on your day out with baby!

well i was trying to decide whether or not to strip petra back and start over so i dressed her in her red out fit and took her with us to the acupuncter appointment. POOR BF. anyway they loved her ,they couldn't figure out why i wasn't happy with her.which made me feel better.i decided to pounce ,feather 3 different flesh tones over her to tone down her splotches and just go with her. so cross your fingers for us. sage
I wouldn't strip her back...I think she looks great! I don't see where her splotches are bad at all but a couples flesh layers will tone her down if your not pleased with her. I've blotched and toned my Justin so many times already and you know something it only added more depth tp her skin. I love it even better. Can't wait to she Petra all done!

you know i've had petra hanging around so long i may just keep her ,i've grown use to that i'm the boss face.........lol i'll take pics soon if i don't ruin the poor dear trying to do my painting off a tv tray. sage
I get 1/3 of the kitchen table. It's a fold-leaf table so the each of the sections is 1/3 and the 2 ends fold down. So I guess I really get about 1/6th of it. It makes things really close but I wouldn't want it much larger. If you spread stuff out you (I) only put my arm or sleeve in the paints anyway hehehe. It's like we say about the paint... less is more! :o
i'm use to spreading out so working in such a small space is quite a shock but i'm so desperate to work on babies that i went for it. feeling a bit better now , worked on petra and am rooting her hair .......finally sage
i'm working on kyle from bb........i'm doing him with a tummy plate........yes he has his twig and berries.......lol......anyway almost finished but wasn't real sure about him so i put him together and took him to town .......ppl loved him.......thank god..........this is my first time doing a tummy plate for a kit........i took him to town in a diaper and a white hospital shirt left open........one women very kindly asked me if it was to cool out to have him dressed like that.........she was inbarased when she found out it was a doll..........but when that happens i just tell them what a wonderful complement it is for me that they thought it was real , i also always thank them for adoreing them ........lol..........so gonna take him apart and do the finishing touches ..........sage
"Twig and berries" hahaha. nice way to put it hun! :D
In the winter here I usually put my baby in a cute little snowsuit with a light blanket over her. That gives it more of a real look/feeling. People are always asking to see the "baby". then when they find out she's a doll and they like her,, I hand them a biz card. lol
Congrats on the belly plate. I have to do one with twig and berries soon lol.
Anyone know somebody looking to buy a few of my babies for a sale price? I have 3 for sale at $300 each, complete with extra outfit and nappy! Let me know. :)
I took David Michael with me yesterday to my parent's Thanksgiving. They all liked him. My daughter especially loved him. She carried him around all day. :)
Ok, guys, I have to tell you about my latest excursion with David Michael!
Had a Christmas party tonight with a HUGE group of people that I didn't know. (Friends of my parents, etc.) I took DM with me, and of course, my daughter had to hold him (which she adored!) but the biggest thing is that SOOOOO many ladies there thought he was real!! They just ooooohed and ah'ed over him and talked to him like a real baby. Even little girls (like 10 & under) loved him!! I handed out my business card to several people and talked about how I made him. It would be SO nice if something moneywise came out of this, but if nothing else, I got MAJOR positive confirmation that he looks real enough to pass as a real baby. So YAY ME!! LOL
I took four of mine to the creative fest in Zagreb. A lady took Kadence and said it's not a good idea for me to give it to her, because she won't be able to let go!
The other took Harmony and held it in a hand made blanket, and took it for a walk. She said that everyone kept asking her is she Friki Fimo haha! There was also a mom of twin baby girls that held Rosebud, and while we were talking she kept rocking it :)
Almost everyone that saw them were delighted, and those who didn't said it was because they looked so real. So that was also a compliment LOL :)
The creative fest ends today, I can't wait for some new feedback. So far, so good! :)
