Hi, Just new here, I read you can mix Matt Varnish into GHS paints to stop shine on dolls. If this is ok should it be done in each coat of paint. Love this site, learning so much just reading here...Thanks....Wendy
To my knowledge from Genesis, you should only use the matte as the last step of your painting and only if you have a shiny baby. You can probably mix it with the paint but you might end up with the chalkies.
I use Chroma Archival odourless thinner and so far never have a problem with chalkies no matter what amount I use. However there is a recommended ratio paint to thinner for GHS paints, I saw it somewhere in the forum (sorry can't remember the exact thread) Pat B will probably be able to direct better.

Yep! You should not use more than 40% thinner to paint ratio. This comes straight from Genesis. I never use even 40% (this is a maximum).
Sometimes if you get the chalkie appearance on your parts you can take your thinner and lightly go over that area, then bake at the right temperature but for about 2-3 minutes longer. This usually takes care of it.
