I am wondering what is best to use - Genesis heat set paints or Authentic Reborn Paints? I'm new to this and the first baby doll I made was with Genesis heat set paint - we used a heat gun to dry it with. Can a heat gun be used to dry the ARP as well? Are the ARP harder to use then the Genesis? Does Secrist have a video taking the 'reborning' process from start to finish? I have SO many questions ...... I see that Secrist has a "set" of flesh paints (7 colors), however I didn't see the 'blue' vein color in that set. Thanks so much for your help. Suzi
Hello I believe there are several threads on the new authentic paints vs. Gensis. I have yet to use them so I can't really advise on if they are easier or not but several people here have and they have posted thier opinions. I think it's more of a perference like the air dry paints some people use. Some people love them, me, I don't like them at all.
The GHSP and the ARP are similar in that they both need to be cured at 265F/130C or using a heat gun (personally I woudn't use the gun to cure an entire baby, just the 6" minis). As Tina W stated, others have posted and there are articles and such in forum. So look for them and see what they have to say. I'm not sure if Secrist will come out with another DVD on those paints, I can presume so but the painting is the same no matter what. As with the GHSP, be sure to stir them in the pots before using them.
The reason there is no vein color in the flesh set is because it's a flesh set. Hope this all helps
