I chiped some of the paint of my babies lips and need to repaint it but how do I heat set it when it is already rotted? Can I just buy a heat gun at hobby lobby or some where or do I have to buy the one from secrist? Thanks for any help.

Some of the heat guns you buy can be way too hot. And some not hot enough like a hair dryer. I am taking it your ment you've rooted her hair.  Maybe a acrylic paint and use a sealer. But, your best bet is just a genesis heat gun. I have heard that some have tried to just really wet the hair down and bake it. I have not run into this. But, that would not be my choice. Expecially if you've used glue to seal the hair in the head. I am sure someone else will post also.  Best of luck.

You can repaint and put your rooted head inthe oven at the recommended temp. You wont have any problems with the hair. XXXX June.

June,
I am curious...what if it's been glued in. Wouldn't the glue melt?

Thanks,
Brenda

I believe the one at Hobby Lobby is about the same. Just ask someone there. And be sure it's not like a hairdryer. they're not hot enought as was already said. I believe the one Secrist sells gets to about 400 or 500 degrees F so that is why you can't hold it in one place for long. I do know that it will fry mohair on a doll head and burn you if you get the heat on your skin for long.
