Hi my name is Cindie i started reborning in november 08 i love it..iv only done 7 dolls so far.In the new Secrist book they talk about oil color pencils for eyebrows but i didnt see them for sale in the book ,can enyone help me. And once i ran out of plastic pellots and used steralized sand ,is that bad? my email is rymekc@yahoo.com

Hi Cindie,
Prismacolor water color pencils are what your talking about. They are found at most craft stores. Where they have artists paints. The have a varity of colors. Light umber is good for brown color hair.

Most do not use sand. They use the polly pellets and or glass beads. The sand can end up molding. And if you go to sell any of your dolls, sand is not excepted in customs in other countries.
So, therefore most do not use it.

Correct on both points! Sand is considered bio-hazard by customs and cannot be imported or exported between countries. You don't even want to know what happens to those poor dollies! :o

Yes, sand can also mold, doesn't matter if its sterilized or not. Just bad business all the way around. Polypellets are save and work just as well if not better. Use them with polyfil or any type of the usual stuffings on the market.

Yes, you can find prismacolor pencils in most art or craft stores that sell good quality supplies.
