Totally new to this wonderful art ;)

Hi everyone :)

I'm a total newbie to making these wonderful dolls but not to the "doll world". I have been collecting dolls for quite awhile -- for my granddaughter also. I even collect clothespin dolls *lol*

I tried to create a name a few weeks ago but wasn't able to get back in there. Not sure what to do but have made another and here I am :)

I am so excited to get started but waiting for my tax return to buy the starter kit. I already made a nice corner in my "trailage" ( I call it that because it's half trailer and half cottage *lol*) for my doll making station. I know when I finish my first doll it'll be mine forever as I won't be able to part with it,biggrin but my second one will be sold so I can buy more of the supplies I'll need. My thrid one will go to my sweet granddaughter. I'm praying daily that God will see me through this wonderful new "baby world". I have been watching videos for months in youtube and everytime I view them...I breathe deeply in excitement.

I love art and love dolls so I thought that mixing the two together I would make a successful doll artist.

Well that's about all I can think to say tonight ;)

I picked out a doll starting kit on my wish list and hope to find it in the mail soon. Maybe this weekend my tax return will be here.

Take care,
*wendy

Thank you...

I'm eagerly checking my mail everyday for that tax return :)

I want to start like yesterday.

I'll keep watching videos until I get the tutorial's from here.

Hi Wendy,

I just started this wonderful craft also. I was like you; I would go and read things about reborning and get so excited. I finally got my doll last week and almost have her finished. It has been so much fun. Two hours can go by in a wink of an eye. You will have a wonderful time doing this.

Hi back and you sound so cute!!!! Oh...this is an exciting thing to do. I just started last May with buying my first one.  It was so nice and pretty and felt surprisingly like a real baby to hold.  You are a grandma too!! I'm a 'young' grandma to 9. My oldest grandson was my number one and he is going to be l8 in may.  I can't believe it.  Maybe that's why I don't look in the mirror anymore...that person isn't MEEEEE, it can't be!! so..it's not. hehe  Anyway...sounds like you are 'nesting'.  I can't believe how these little dolls can bring a smile to your heart.  I just went over and picked up my latest gumdrop and picked her up above me and then cuddled her, laughed out loud and said to mom 'this is just the greatest thing to do and it's such a feeling to know that you did it and that baby comes out looking the way it does because that is how you designed it.  So, welcome to the world of endless babies!!!biggrin  Oh yeah....it's a very expensive thing to do, but hopefully I will get enough nerve to start putting my babies up on Ebay.   Darn...I have a custom template that I'll have to try to figure out for the very first time.  Then the next template I have made is going to have my latest grandson on it.  How fun.  If you want something like that let me know..it's only about 10.00
Anyway...it's nice to meet you Wendy.
