Color Wash on Ethnic/Biracial Kits

I'm new at newborning and my question is would you suggest the color wash for the ethnic/biracial vinyl or would you just use the skin layering technique to achieve your depth in the skin?

Please advise, Thanks.

Unless it is a Secrist translucent vinyl kit, I never do an internal colorwash on it. Secrist vinyl is made to be "translucent, just like a real babies skin". Other kits on the market are not that way (there is one fairly close manufacturer). The ethnic skintone of Secrist is also translucent so I do that one, but a very light coat.
