How do I make my baby's skin color look real?

Hello
I'm basically new to reborning.  My question is the coloring.  I start with my flesh 08 base color all over my baby then proceed with blushing ect. However my baby toos too pink when shes complete.  Am I not adding enough flesh 08 to my thinner on the initial base coat? What am I doing wrong or better yet, what can I do to give my babies that lighter blotchy skin look?

You need to correct the color which depend on your doll. Who is the doll made by? You can go to the Secrist website and they have some tips on skin blotching.

First of all, go watch your DVD's!
I teach my students to put an 07 basecoat down and do another time after baking. You are probably putting on your blush color either under the wrong lighting or too dark. Less is more!!! If you need to color correct, see the thread on color correcting to see what to do and how to use your colorwheel.

I watched all my dvd's twice.  I put the flesh 08 one first and followed along with the dvd.  I do think however that your probably right regarding the blush. I maybe either putting it on too dark and too much.
Thank you for all your help

You need a color wheel which will help you correct color. If your kit is to purple/pink you use mint paint to tone it down and so on. You add just a bit of mint/green to your flesh tone is what I have been told.

Thank you ladies so much for all your help!  I will try the mint green to my flesh color on my next pink kit.
