I received my secrist tuturiol magazine today and am wondering about resculpting with the sculpey.  Doesn't it make the vinyl less flexible?  Is there a possibility of chipping off the dolls?  I'm interested in doing this but I want to make sure that at some point in the future that a piece of my baby won't fall off or crack.smile

I really cannot say for sure as I have never done this. Hopefully Pat C. will come in here and answer this for you as she is the one that does this. Wait for her to comment. Sorry I couldn't have been more help.

Hi,..
I resculpted my Paddy with adding some clay on top of her ears she looks like an elfbaby now.In my oppinion you should handle your vinyl doll like a ooak baby,...she is much more vulnerable than .

Hi Daan! Glad you could stop in.
How about posting your Paddy in the artist showcase? We'd all LOVE to see that little one of yours with elf ears!!! Also, would you PLEASE, PLEASE post some pics of your sculpts for your show??? Pretty please???!!!! :)

I agree! If you are going to put that much time and effort (and love) into your baby you should definately treat it like an OOAK!

Okay, I've  been under a never ending pile of papers for WEEKS... and I hate college freshmen more then usual.....
However, answering the resculpting question.... yes, you must treat your "new" little baby with some care.  Do not sculpt too close to the part of the head where you will be rooting your hair as you can not root through the newly sculpted areas.  Another consideration is that if you sculpt too close to the area that needs to be rooted you may force the original material away from the new sculpt, a problem I had with a Santa resculpt when adding the beard.  As long as you keep this single fact in mind I think you will love your results and you will end up with a true One-of-a-Kind doll.
Have fun...
