I have tried the suggestions given to eliminate the chalkiness. I have done my latest kit (Little Luca) using Genesis Thinning Medium instead of the odorless thinner. But I don't understand the amounts that I am supposed to use. I tried using less GTM than paint, but the consistency was still on the thick side...not watery and transparent like it is with the odorless thinner; and my doll came out chalky AGAIN! If anyone can tell me what this problem might be, I would be very grateful!
You can only use not more than 40% Genesis thinner. Make sure you mix all your paints up before scooping some out to use. They are "thixatropic" which means thick in the container but when mixed become creamy.
You can also use both the odorless thinner and Genesis thinning medium together, but again, not more than 40% Genesis thinner per batch of paint made. With the thinning medium it will not be "watery" at all, just nice and creamy. And since you said it was still on the thick side I'm thinking you still got too much paint on the doll. A little goes a long way, less is more so to speak.

Dolores, I think this is the answer to your Question, June.
Eileen- If you go to angelsunawares.net there is a very good "recipe" for mixing your paints with the thinning medium. I tried it without any trouble with chalkiness.
