I was wondering if any one has any ideas how yo keep your clay clean while sculpting? What is the best way to clean up without damaging your face?

I love this sight and all the new borns are so beautiful. Alot of talented ladies out there. I have ordered a form and I am going to use it to sculpt a santa face. I have always used a foil armature in the past but I think eye placement  will be much easier.

Does anyone use stand while sculpting? Do you just hold it in your hands while sculpting?

I hope everyone has a wonderful day.

Nancy

Get yourself a container (or 2) of generic baby wipes and wipe your fingers, hands and your workspace with them. They are easy and inexpensive!
You can also use a bit of already soiled clay, just keep playing with it and it will take most of the dirt even out of your fingerprints! :o

As far as sculpting, I hold mine until I get the entire head covered and smoothed before doing the detail. Then I move it to a stand of some sort.

Thank you so much! I will try what your methods. I am going to try and use the new born head to sculpt a santa face. What kind of stand will hold the vinyle head?

Again thanks for sharing your ideas with me.

I just take a large board and drill a hole in it, get a round peice of wood (some kind of pole or something) and glue it in the hole.
Then take some fiberfil and put it on the top of the pole (you can cover it loosly with a nylon knee-high) so it doesn't damage the inside of the head. Then sculpt away!
