I have finished painting my doll and I wanted to use the Genesis Heat set matte vernish to take the shine off my doll. I use Genesis heat set paints so everything is by Genesis.
The problem.....I put one thin coat on all the limbs and head. The limbs turned out fine but the head once the doll cooled got a white film all over it. What caused this....how can I remove the matte varnish from the head without stripping all the layers of paint and all my hard work???
The only thing I can think may have caused this is the limbs had more time to air dry before putting it in the oven. The head still had damp streaks.
Any advice????
follow up, after the limbs cooled and we picked them up to see the texture and when we lightly squeezed the limbs they turned white and cracked too just as the head did.
you will get a white looking film and cracking if you have not set your Matte varnish long enough, i always bake for 10mins let cool then bake again for a further 10 mins
