Which needles do I need to order

 Ok So I am ordering all my supplies for my 1st doll. Not sure which needles to order for rooting. Do I need to order different sizes for hair and eyebrows?? Which is best? I have ordered a premie baby does that make a difference is needle size? I know alot of questions LOL I just wanna know I am ordering the right thing.

You only need one needle size first starting out. Most reborners paint the brows so you don't have to worry about rooting them. When i first started rooting, I used a 38 gauge ultra rooting needle. They worked fine for me. Hope this helped :]

Jen,I use 1 barb 38 gauge seeing you are only doing a small baby you dont want to put to much hair in one hole..IE if you used a 3 barb you would put stands, 6 barb more hair, so stick with one barb.

Thank you that makes sense. I have worked with rooting mohair, but mine was on primitive dolls made from muslin so I figured the heads would be alot different than working with fabric. Thank again

The size of the needle (38 guage, 42 guage) is the size of the needle only and will determine how large of a hole is put into the head. Larger guage number, smaller thinner needle.
The barbs (1, 3, none) determines how many hairs the needle will grab and put into that hole. More barbs, more hair.

I hope this helps you decide.
