Are You a Teacher or Want to Become a Teacher?

I would like to teach Secrist reborn classes in 2009, We are setting up a studio and have had about a dozen ladies take my card last Sat week at the Craft Fair but as yet have to learn how to use Secrists paints to perfection first. Have been making Porcelain dolls for 20yr, with many Major Multi Awards here in Australia, from Melbourne,Sydney up to Mackay in Qld. Will Secrists Be bringing out a Range in Inks. I have used mostly Secrists Kits with the exception of a few of Elly Knoops. They aren't quality photos but are on Artist Showcase. I sold Rosie at the fair with another one on order. Also sold Zoe on ebay last week. And Squeaky for a xmas present. so I tink I can only improve my skills. But am not in a position to pay high prices for learning techniques. As I did with Sealy's in porcelain and never learnt anything except you got a certificate when you paid to do a seminar. weirdface

I have sent my information and stuff to Secrist. It takes time and experience with the Genesis June. You'll have it down in no time :)

Thank You Pat B, I have a few kits to work on and will do the next with the Genesis Paints. I think I have the rooting part up to scratch, and I know where all the veins and blotches go, Milk bumps and little scratches. The teacher that I had the first few lessons with, has an artical in Dolls and Bears and contradics what we were taught with the ink. I think it was a bit unfair but you live and lern. Vanette from Vanettesbassinett has helped me with my confidence. I realy is awfull to feel this way. But by next week I ---WILL--- have one done and dressed by me. OK.----I know I have given others confidence, why not me. weirdface

Absolutely! I have confidence in your abilities June as one porcelain convert to another lol.
It is similar to china paint as it never dries till you bake it, and you can take it off before its cooked, and a lot of the techniques are the same as well as some of the brushes. You know.

Just keep telling yourself... paint not ink... paint not ink! And of course you KNOW where to find the best help in town!!! lol *blush* I agree, you have given much inspiration to others here and in our other forum (you know where lol)

I'd love to take the class at Secrist in MI and get certified. However, there's no way this year that I can make the cost of attending. MI is a long way from Los Angeles! As an alterntive I will buy the training manual for teaching online and make my sample of the doll used on the Beginning Reborning DVD to show in class. Does anyone know what doll is used on the Beginning Reborning DVD? Is it Taffy or Rosie? I think it's one or the other?

It's Taffy. I did her also when I went for the Teacher Certification class. I now have 7 Taffy heads in all stages to show my students for examples.

I have a reborning shop in the uk and i do 4 beginners classes each week (im exhausted!!!) i work full time in a "paid" job too. i just love it and wanted to share what i have learnt over the years with like minded people. i would absolutley, without a doubt want to be a certified teacher for secrist. the only problem i have is getting to you! I start each lady with a secrist kit as i have always found them to be the easiest to begin with. the skin tone is just right, no need to do a colour correction wash first and have to hope for the best!!! the babys all finish looking superb, i havent had a bad one yet. lets hope that sometime soon i can come over to you. love sammy xxx

If you have classes you might want to tell them and they will put your information on the Secrist site. I know there are people looking for classes in the UK. We also have a topic thread for "classees and events" and you can post there too.
