Hair Color Issues...See Pics.....

I just started rooting my new baby...I do not like the color and wanted to get some opinions before I rip it all out....I think he would look better with brown hair...

Is there any way to remove the reddish tint to the hair? I think that is why I don't like it...

His head is only half way done. It took me about 9 hrs to this! Is that normal? Does any have rooting secrets? My arm is so sore....

The rooting looks pretty good. I agree that the hair color is not the best, though. Your baby (in my opinion) would look better with dark hair. Rooting does take forever, doesn't it? I thought I would never be done!!!! If it's good mohair, keep it as you rip it out, and you might be able to reuse it on another doll. Sorry about the dissapointment and wasted time (not really wasted, though, it's good practice). Your baby's adorable, though, even with the 'wrong' hair color.

I think he looks adorable just the way he is too.  His eybrows do match perfect. I think maybe you will feel different once he is complete and you give him a nice baby hair cut.  If you still want a different color once your done I think someone left a post in this section somewhere on how to color the hair with regular haircolor after the baby is rooted.

Way to go, MsSunny!!! As long as you're happy with him, that's all that matters. I'm sure he'll look much better when he's all dressed up, too. He's a cutie in blond hair, I think it's probably just my own thing, I personally like dark haired babies better than blond ones. Also, I think part of the reason is that we're both used to seeing the 'Trey' prototype in dark hair. But he's a total little darling, and enjoy him. And remember, never sell him, it's an absolute must to keep your first.

I should have done him with dark hair...but now I know...I think you are absolutely right that it is from seeing his prototype with dark hair...I fell in love with his prototype....

I just bought some light brown mohair for my next doll....

I think I am going to have to sell him in order to be able to afford more babies...We will see when he is done....I probably won't be able to sell him! I have already purchased clothes and all kinds of goodies for him.

I hope when I am done I can afford to keep him...

Plus I absolutely love the idea of donating babies...there are 2 nursing homes within a block of my house...I would love to be able to make lots of babies for the patients there...

smile.gif THANKS!!

I've only seen a very few blond headed dolls that looked natural. I suspect it is just hard to get the quality of mohair in that color. I've only rooted my dolls with colors ranging from very light brown to black. I did buy straight mohair from Secrist and even though it is called light brown, it turned out to have a nice natural red tint to it!

Hi, I've rooted a few babies with the blonde hair and I thought the baby just looked so blah! I think it's hard to get a really good color that looks natural. So, I prefer to use the browns. It's really IMPORTANT to get quality mohair. I put all the time, money and energy into the baby and it pays to do everthing well. Hope you can get some good mohair and have a beautiful baby! Blessings,Connie
