Need help coloring an Asian doll
Permalink

Hello everyone!
I am buying a Secrist Ming kit, and hope someone can help. I need to know how to get Asian coloring on a doll. Does anyone know what colors of the Genesis paints give that beautiful Asian color? I have no idea which colors I should use to give her the true Asian color. Any help would be great!

Thank you,
Sandra

the flesh 06 is good to use for an asian baby... they're not much different to a caucasion baby just maybe the slightest of caramel to the skin tones.

I've only ever done one asian baby - a boy i named Chi-Chi, he was adopted to Canada. I'll put a few pics of him in the showcase.

Working with children and adults who are Asian (and being Caucasian myself) I can say that skin colors vary about as much among Asian people as the do Caucasian people. With the limits we have working on dolls you are going to see most of the differences in facial features, not skin tones. When I do an Asian baby, if she is a Secrist Sculpt, I won't use any flesh tones. That is what I did with Willow, my Guppy fairy, and it gave her the pale skin I'm going for. If I don't use a Secrist sculpt, I'm not sure what I'll do! LOL. I guess my point is, there is no right or wrong way to paint your doll.
