Does anyone know what size rooting needle to use to root human hair?  I've tried a 42g, but the hair just won't stay in! thanks

Try a crown rooting needle. The German needles only have one barb and (as I understand it) take a while to get the hang of anyhow.

Yes, I would also say to try a crown needle. Human hair, contrary to popular notion, is actually more coarse than mohair so it makes it more difficult to root. Also, you have to root it close to the root shaft or bottom of the hair. It has a "grain" if you will, and must be rooted a certain way to look nice and minimize breakage.
Hope this helps
