Aw, I wish you all the best TEA, it sounds like something you've been wanting to do for awhile. I hope it's a smooth move for ya. Hopefully the next few months will fly by and the move will come sooner than you think.

you sound so happy - it is sucha big move though and it gets quite spendy when you have to transport furnature etc. I hope you get some fantastic over the top crazy ebay sales so that you will be able to aford it in the shorter 6mths rather than a full 12mths away....
though seriously where has this year gone... even if it is a full 12mths, at the rate at which this year has wizzed by, another 12months will be gone before we know it anyway!!

Wow moving to WA, Well, When we get to travel, I,ll be able to stop by and say hello to you both. It would be quite nice to meet you both, If my sister can do it, then we can, I,ll do like the Lady in the little yellow car , she has been arround OZ, about 18-19 times, She's over 80 what a marelous thought. She eats cold baked beans and never gets sick of them, Pity her car didn't run on gas.June M from Oz
ewwww cold baked beans!!! I could not do that!!!!!
I'd also hate living out of a suitcase for such a long time... even in a camper van i seriously couldn't think of anything i'd like to do LESS!!! But in a car!!! Oh my!!!
My folks sometimes talk about oneday doing the camper thing round aust... when they retire. i'm not at all inclined to do as such myself - to me it sounds like a miserable nightmare... give me a plane ticket and a hotel thank you very much!!!! LOL
Home is where the heart is, some where safe and warm, and with someone you love. I could live anywhere after living here in the sticks, but I'd love to travel. First thing I want to do is go back over to Northern Ireland, so Sam can see his family ,maybe for the last time.June M from Oz
12 months will go by soo fast! The hard part would be the packing up all your stuff. I moved 12 months ago and i still havent unpacked all my stuff..dont think i will as i plan to move again next year so yeah..the joys of packing and unpacking
Sounds like your real excited!! The time will go fast you probably have so much you want to do and to get done. You will wonder were the time went. And yes June I like cold bean sandwiches too. With a big gob of mustard on them. YUM! YUM ! Linda
yes 12 months is going to fly by im already worried about what has to be done before i leave lol im wondering would anyone know who i need to ring to enquire about flying animals over? i rang quantas and they only take cats and dogs i have a porky pig that i need to fly hes only a baby at the moment but will be quite big in 12months time, if i have to sell him i know he will end up on a plate and i just couldnt do that!

Crafty chick, I haven't unpacked my good glassware and ornaments, royal ruby in the like for over six years and since this shift haven't unpacked for 3 yrs, untill we get this house finished. Only got the basics in the kitchen, linen, and cloths. And when it comes to going though it, I'll probably have a garage sale and end up with a few boxes, instead of two sheds full.June M from Oz
I haven't lived close to "home" since I was 17, so I know exactly how you feel! I would move home in a heartbeat, but, unfortunately, for hubby's job we have to be in a BIG CITY, and well, that means we're always at least 1,000 miles away from our parents. Sometimes that can be a good thing (in-laws), but mostly it's not.
Leah... I understand completely the love to go home and the joy you must be feeling. I am so happy for you!!
Re: flying your pig. Check out Jet Pets, Australian Air Express, and Virgin Freight. I've flown Rats and Mice around Australia as well as dogs. You basically need to have a crate (you can hire from Jet Pets) and they will do all the paperwork and stuff - provided that pigs are allowed to fly into WA with their quarentine laws and stuff..
Jet Pets are really lovely and great to work with. It will be a bit exxy (usually goes on weight or size!)... otherwise maybe start looking for a pet home for him now so that he bonds with his new owners before he gets big?
It cost me a couple of hundred to fly a boxer in a big crate, so not sure about a pig!
We recently made the big move to the UAE, and it's been an adventure! My family and I were drawn to the vibrant lifestyle and incredible opportunities here. Before relocating, we spent a lot of time researching the UAE Golden Visa benefits, as we knew it would allow us to enjoy a stable life without the constant worry of visa renewals. After getting in touch with a local agency that specializes in this process, we were relieved at how smooth everything was. They guided us through the paperwork and explained the benefits, like being able to live, work, and study without restrictions.
