Good Morning Pat B, I was thinking how nice it would be if Secrits could put a work sheet and colour picture in each of the kits, that way for beginers, they would feel like they were left out in the cold. They do that with the porcelain greenware plus body and cloths pattern. I'm sure the purchasers wouldn't mind paying for that privilege. Just a thought.June M from Oz.
June, I think that's a great idea!! I know when I was making my first few dolls I was very confused about how to put some of them together. Maybe Pat B. can pass that tip on to the "boss".

Thats a really good idea. When i first started my kit, i had no clue what to do and what it should look like. I had to surf the net and look for other dolls that have already been made so i had a clue what i was working with.
Pat B, By work Sheet, I mean colours for allover wash, Shading, lips, toe and finger nails, For some, how to put bodies together, putting in eyes, and doing lashes, what to weight with, how much to use and where, vertually a start to finish of that sculpt, as the original one was done. Once they have done a few, as you know experiance goes a long way, but for beginners with no teachers in a close proximity to where they live, it,s realy something that cofuses, I have phoned Dolls and Bears mag to see if it would be possible to have a list of teachers as they do with doll shows. The person I rang today is to ring me back with details on her classes, Her husband said, about $280 dollars for the weekend. It doesn,t seem to be an on going class, where ladies can meet and compair, like in the porcelain doll world. And they have to pay for accommodat ion and fuel, so it makes for an expensive weekend, in times of higher interest rates and fuel. I just feel that a work sheet , like Shay, for instance by Donna Rubert, would be a big benifit and would also help secrets increase sales for beginners, sorry for going on but I can't write or explain in short term. LOL at that bit, Just goes to show I,m a blabber mouth.June M from Oz. PS, Also about eye sizes for different sclupts would be good also. As some of them have been asking about that also.
Pat C, That is what you get with each kit of greenware for porcelain dolls,They could make list of colours needed, when and where to place them and an idea for newbies about eyebrows, I don't mean for it to be a book, most people can theninterpret between the lines. June M from Oz
Hi Mary L. Most of this information you can find either in our forum by using the "search" feature at the top of the page. Just type in what you want to look for. (ie: washing doll parts, weighting limbs, etc).
And Secrist has/had on their site, a tutorial on how to assemble your doll. It's actually a mini video. As far as care and cleaning of the finished doll, there is also a thread in forum on that. I hope this is helpful for you hun.
thankyou I think I'm also having pc problems as there are times I click to look at something and it drops the page or the videos won't open and so another on line class...DARN IT!!/
