starter kit size changes
Permalink

I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this, but I just noticed that the Basic Newborning Starter Kit now has 19" doll kit options instead of the 17" preemies.  Is there going to be a new Starter Kit with the preemies?  I was planning to do a Zoe, as she's soooo cute, and I was hoping for a smaller head to root.  I also wanted a Basic Starter Kit.  I can buy everything seperately, but the money you save with a starter kit is tempting.  Okay, enough for now.  I'm just hoping there will be a preemie starter kit, hopefully cheaper than the 19' one.  If anyone has any info on this, I'd love to know.  Thanks.

OK, we have the deluxe starter kit (with 19" and 22") http://www.secristdolls.com/inc/sdetail/697, then we have the basic starter kit with the 12" and 19" (there's a small one for ya) http://www.secristdolls.com/inc/sdetail/16840, and then last but not least we have a really small beginner starter kit (with a 6" mini) http://www.secristdolls.com/inc/sdetail/42471
So you do have 3 to start with.
I think they like to give different options instead of having it the same all the time. If you really want a Zoe I can check with the office and see if you can get that kit instead with the basic starter kit instead of what's offered online.

Oh, and BTW, if you get to choose the Zoe in place of one of the other dolls, I can tell you it won't make the kit any cheaper than it is right now.

Thanks for the reply. May I ask you just one quick question? Are the head sizes of the 17" and 19" babies very different?

Okay, that'll be great. I wouldn't get the starter kit with Zoe replacing a 19" doll, as I could get everything in there cheaper separate with Zoe. So you don't know of a preemie starter kit coming soon in the horizon? If you ever do, please let me know. But maybe there's not such a big difference in the 2 sizes, and I'll be fine with a 19", or maybe I'll just order everything separately. Thanks very much for measuring the heads for me.

That seems like not too much of a difference. I assume you're measuring the circumference of the area to be rooted? Thanks.

"For a limited time the Basic Newborning Starter Kit and the Deluxe Newborning Starter Kit will include a 19" infant of your choice with 1/4 limbs."

Apparently they will be going back to the 17" preemie kits in the starter kits but for right now (limited time) they have the others. I guess just watch the website. :)

Really, the 19" kits are only around for a little while in the Starter kits? I didn't see that on the website. If they go back to the preemies in there, they might have to consider lowering the price, as all the items included in the Basic Starter Kit, bought separately from Secrist, add up to only $96 aprox. , so buyers will actually get a slightly better deal buying things separately. Just thought I'd mention this, no offense intended.

Hi, could you post me a link? I just don't see it. And the possibly temporary prices, are they going up or down, and when? Thanks.

I am a secrist dealer and since they have changed the size to 19" for the starter kit I have had alot more interest and sales on the starter kits.

Okay, well I've ordered my basic starter kit with 19" Jasmine. I'm so excited! They just sent me an e-mail saying they shipped it, and I can't wait to get started on her. I'll do Zoe after her. :)
