Mohair by Debbie sample
Permalink

Hi All!
I ordered & just received sample cards from Mohair by Debbie, and it looks to be just wonderful... A full range of GOOD colors, and fine & shiney.  She sent me two cards with locks of each color attached and I like them so I think I'll give them a go.  It looks to be as nice as that for which I have paid $60.00/ounce, but at half the price!  She sells 1 oz pkgs for $29.95, and 1/2 oz. pkgsfor 14.95.

Please understand, I have absolutely NO connection to this supplier, and have never purchased from them before...just passing along some information.  You might want to order a sample card to see for yourself.  the link is www.mohairbydebbie.com, and email is drathbun1@stny.rr.comsmile

I forgot to mention, it comes in Curly, wavy, slightly wavy/straight.  Allthe samples look to be slightly wavy!  Cheers!

I too got a beautiful card of Debbie's mohair color samples.  I was impressed by the luster and texture of the hair and the colors are like rainbows, so many possibilities.  Only one thing I'll have to ask her about is the darker browns failed the "color fast test."  I got them wet and then rubbed them on a white paper towel and a very faint amount of color transferred.  As you know, this is not a good trait for mohair.  I'm sure it's a simple thing to correct and she's so generous to send out these samples for free!

I think she is out of NY...

I got my sample card today...It is wonderful...has all the colors you could want and there is enough hair on it to drape over a baby's head and see what color would look good on them...

While I did not test the hair I did immediately ordered the light brown....

The hair is very soft....

The sample is a great to get an idea of the color before you order it....
My very first mohair I purchased on ebay (from someone else)-- 1/2 oz for $40....it turned out to be a strawberry blond but I ordered a golden blond/light brown...very disappointed....

So I have now placed an order from Debbie and can't wait to get it!

Looking forward to seeing a baby with her rooted hair!

I may try her out if I ever can't get hair from my regular supplier!

I also ordered samples from Debbie. The mohair is very nice. Good colors, soft, just all around nice stuff.

She is having some serious medical issues so bear with them if your stuff doesn't come right away.
And please pray for her and her family.

Oh yes, the goats are in Texas I believe her mother told me.

I ordered a sample. I want to root with it though. I thought when I get my mini-Zoe I can try it on her and see if I like the way it roots! I figure with two colors there is just enough there to mix two colors and root a mini-baby. If I like it I'll buy some from her! If not then I'll pull out and use what I have already.

Sounds like a plan. I think you'll really like how her mohair turns out. :)

That is encouraging. I'm planning on buying my Zoe-mini for my birthday in early December! I can make her over my winter break!

I will submit both her and Sparrow (whom I haven't started yet!) to the Showcase when they are done.

Jennifer, did you have to pay for postage, as it didn't say when I went to the site, I asked if it could be posted COD (Cash on Delivery) It does look like nice mohair and does she accept Pay Pal. weirdface
