It looks the same, as a matter of fact, the vinyl that they use for all the Secrist kits has always been the same. Still the Translucent vinyl. I'm not sure why you say it's harder vinyl. I know it does get a little harder the more times you put it in the oven, but it doesn't start out as a harder vinyl than what they pour today. Kits can have a slighty different color depending on the liquid vinyl batch (it's like yarns where you try to match the color batch) but it's only just slight. 

The vinyl for the AV (Apple Valley) dolls is a thicker vinyl not so much translucent like the Secrist kits. Again, same vinyl, different pouring.

The Secrist vinyl has always been translucent like a baby's skin. This is why we do the internal wash.

Thanks! Actually that is one of my students FIRST babies she ever made. I asked her if I could post him for a while as my avatar. That is Secrist Gumdrop whom she renamed JP after her son John Paul.
I thought she did a remarkable job for her very first bub. She never painted anything before him. And she only broke 1 needle on him (I broke 10 on my first) lol. I'll let her know you like him :)

sweatlips i have a Zoe completed doll availbable for adoption (the one thats currently my avatar pic at the side of this post). Its a boy but could be dressed to be a girl... but i'm not sure you'd want to pay my price given that buffington can offer you a finished one at $150.

Actually Buffington, i almost feel guilty at my own price expectations next to your own.

Pat B, I don,t know why either. We have to add all our costs, and postage, get very little for time and effort. You usually buy more than you need ,like little outfits, when I start something ,it becomes so over addictive, Like the other day, I bought 7 little all in ones with long sleeves and dont have a new baby to put one on. But they can be given with a baby once I start selling them ,I guess.June M from Oz
