I am new to the newborning word and have just recieved my supplies today when i opened themup i relized that i have brought the straight paints and not the premixed ones,
I waswondering if youkind peeps could shed some light on the use of them these are what ive got.
flesh 8, obvious what this and the one under are for flesh 7 phthalo green - phthalo blue - burnt umber - dioxazine purple - pyrole red 02 - titanium white - and glazing gel - is this heat set or airdry?
also could someone tell me the mix for making periwinkle blue, lip colour, blush etc, I do have the newborning DVD on its way but australia post is being soooo slow about it and i want to start now lol.
Also I ordered the Zoe sculpt and it has the ends pluged on the limbs??? do i cut this plugging area out so that i can do the wash and filling or should i just put a small opening there, the whole in the head is really small and i dont think the fan brush could get in there to do the wash
I feel like a real idiot asking but ill never know if i dont ask Sammi

it goes into all this, every little step on the DVD - shows you how much to cut the whole bigger in the end of the limbs etc. and even how to mix the paints.
Pre mixes are a new thing, most the secrist DVD show how to paint and mix using the straight paints so don't stress.
I've never used the pre-mixes myself - you'll be fine, don't panic. i do recommend waiting till you have the DVD before you do anything as it can be difficult to just describe what you do and you've best to wait for the visuals of the DVD to follow.
I know its so tempting to want to jump in now that you have supplies, but i promise you'll be glad you waited for the DVD than for it to arrive in a few days and you find you've done something wrong or cut things you shoulnd't have etc.
oh also where are you from?? you said Aust post so i assume your another Aussie... there are quite a number aussies here amung the regular posters.

oh you are sweet, thanks. But honestly Zoe is a great sculpt to start out on, s/he has the most perfect little face ever ... i think you'd have to be pretty tallented to mess this one up.
It seems everyone is always from over east -- and i'm over here all on my loansome :(

Thanks Sammi, at present we are working on a house and display room. a wook room in a garage because I also make Porcelain Dolls, have heaps of molds so to me it,s not a cost factor making them, seing I have all the supplies for them, but as I said to the others, we are getting on, every thing seems to be going wrong and ,we are thinking of selling and getting a 4x4 and caravan, I have a plug in oven and might do the grey nomads thing and teach a few outback places to cover fuel costs, so I might catch up with you on the way..June M from Oz.
Welcome Sammi! I'm Kristie and I am from Sydney, originally from Victoria though. I am a south west vic girl from heart. I drive through Albury/Wodonga all the time! (well, at least 4 times a year!)
