Ok, I followed many of your great tips and I think my little one is really coming to life!  I think I may be done painting, but I since this is my first time painting with these paints, I am once again asking for more experienced eyes.  I took the latest pictures in the shade outside (sun is really bright here today lol!) and I am starting to realize that either I stink at taking pictures or my camera sucks.  Either way, let me know what you think from what you can tell of my horrible photography hmm

I was actually even able to get some of the excess paint around the eyes and nose off with a dull toothpick.   He/she looks even better now!  Think I am ready to start rooting?

Does anyone think I need to do a layer of Matte Varnish? I am not seeing a lot of shine, but would it help add to the realism? Thanks!

I only do a layer of matte if there is shine that I can't live with. Genesis says you don't NEED to seal with varnish.
the only time it adds to the realism is if you use it and make it like a textured skin (noted in another link).
