Can anyone suggest a list that would help anyone new in starting reborning that would help them in the process. Many starting out may get confused at what they need to purchase first or may have a limited budget. this is what I'm doing but am open to new ideas. I am curious to to how the more advanced doll crafters got started. How do you do it on a budget? I also am also curious are there many men reborning?
1.) Obtain knowledge- by ordering books and DVD's 2.) Obtain basic basic supplies- this can be broken down according to what you can afford at the time. (a.) Sculpting tools, clays, pasta clay machine, etc. (b.) Paints, heating gun and necessary supplies (c.) Hair-including good roving, felting needles and tools, etc. (d.) Vinyl kits, bodies and or supplies. (e.) Clothes for you reborn (f.) Misc. items can be accesories to use in photographing a good still shot of your baby.
Is this a good guide line as to how to get started. I realize that they are availble kits for the beginner but this can be costly. Buying from others may help you get a jump start on the process. I do plan on buying quality items according to the projects at hand. Any suggestions would be helpful.
when yu firs tstart out, yu more than likely wont need scupting supplies, ect unless yu plan on making scuplts.there are many doll kits out there tht rnt too expensive for the beginner..secrist dolls rnt expensive and yu can get a preemie kit since yur juss beginning..some ppl just use an oven or a small convection oven for heat setting the paints rather than using a heat gun for the whole doll..this forum is realli nice and helpful..we're like a family here..any questions yu hav..someone will be here to answer them :]
