I feel Ive made a mess with my rooting , Ive used cheap mohair, Ive glued this in now you can see holes in the head and Im not happy with my paintwork, can this be fixed or can i get a replacement louise head im really happy with my limbs....arrrggghhh stressed out with it
You could always strip everything off, repaint the head, and use a wig to cover the holes. Otherwise, you can buy a head only from one of the Secrist dealers.
Karen, don't give up. I don't think there are many of us here who haven't messed up our first babies. It's a live and learn thing. Every baby you do you'll get a little better. The only way I've learned to do things right is usually to do them wrong first. And many of our first babies have to wear hats. But in time, even the rooting gets easier. Now I love doing it!

so true!!!
Actually i've been talking about this with my mum just recently, it use to take me three full days of work to root one baby's head - and it would be rather thinly spaced. Now i can root a whole head in one afternoon, and its about 5times thicker in coverage.
First babies are about playing and learning. Don't be hard on yourself or expect perfection just yet. Its all about exploring and discovering. Dress her in a cute and snuggly winter outfit with hat and i'm sure she'll look darling.
if you are able to take a pic of two and post a link i'd love to take a look-see and give you futher advise - i promise to be gentle
Oh karen, please dont give up, im doing my first reborn atm and was the same 3 days ago when i started rooting her hair i was just about to throw her in the box and forget i had even tried to take up this hobby, but now day three and half a head later im beggining to be happy with her,
although i noticed with using conditioner she has come up a bit shiney, for all you experianced reborners here can i do some more light layers over her to get rid of the shine, as i dont have any matte varnish and after spending almost $300 in the last 2 weeks on this hobby i dont think the other half would be happy if i get some at this time.

Karen, I read in one of the topics, that there are little foam rubbers in the cleaning isles at the supermarket, you dampen them and they take off the shine, I,ve tried this with inks and it works. As far as rooting the hair try to make it a bit thicker, that should cover the holes. Don,t give up. We are all there chearing you on.June M from Oz
LOL pat B, I might as well be the wizard of Oz Just not Dorothy, I didn,t like my name June and before my MUm passed away ,I asked if I could change it, She said, Yes, but when I looked in the mirror, I Couldn,t find one that suited me. So it,s still June M from Oz.June
