I have a very soft Luca and I'm so confused about all that internal wash thing. Some say I should do it, others says don't. I bought 4 Secrist Dvds and I'm so happy about it, but in one dvd, Stephanie do inner veining and a very purple coloured internal wash. In another she do veining on the outside and a not so purple internal wash. That confuses me a bit. I know that with long arms and legs, I will have to do outside veining, but my worries is about the internal wash. Do I have to do it and should I make ait a lighter purple or the darker one? Please can anyone make me a little wiser about this? I would appreciate it very much
Marianna,.. The purple dark color on the Dvd is only to show you the color,..otherwiss it is hard to see on the camera. I always do the internal wash with the Secrist doll kits because we especially made the vinyl transparant ...it was designed to do the internal wash. If you do the internal wash do it very light just if it is not there ,..the effect will show on the outside of the vinyl.
You can do the internal wash on her but I know that some dolls do not need it. We strongly recommend it on our Secrist and Apple Valley doll kits because we made them specifically translucent like a real baby's skin so you can get that real undertone look that babies have.
You probably don't have to do it on the Knoops. That vinyl (V/S MIX) isn't really translucent so it won't make a difference really.
And yes, like Danielle said, the DVD shows it darker (and I believe they say that somewhere in there) so that it shows up on camera. The same with the veins, and the blush and mottling colors.
