Hello! I am looking for information about Pat Secrist. My wife found one of her dolls at a sale and purchased it. The doll face was simply amazing, and one the best I have seen in many years. I am the son of the late Alice Dohmeyer, nationally known doll maker and artist. I would like to really find out more about Pat Secrist, and see if she might have known my mother. My mother doll creations were well known especially for the faces on her dolls, as well as mother designed all her own molds from which her famous dolls were cast from. So if anyone could get me some information on Pat, please, as I would like to contact her!
Thank You

I am not sure that I can tell you much about Pat, but I do know from watching the training videos that he and his wife started Apple Valley dolls and Secrist dolls. If you watch some of the video clips on the site, you will probably see Pat. Hopefully someone from Secrist will respond and give you a better history.
I am Pat B. the field sales rep for Secrist and Apple Valley Dolls. Here is a link to give you a little more information on Pat (by the way, Pat Secrist is a him not a her ): http://www.secristdolls.com/secrist_history
I have been making AV (Apple Valley) dolls for over 18 years, and now have been making his Secrist line of dolls for over 4 years, so I am quite familiar with both companies (and the Secrists). If you will send an e-mail to me containing the information you posted here, at buffington@secristdolls.com I will forward it to Mr. Secrist. Make sure you include an e-mail address &/or phone number where he may reach you. I am not able to give you any e-mail or phone number on him (data privacy act you know) but I will certainly forward your information on to him.
Also if you look on the back of the dolls neck, it might even say which doll it is. You or your wife can also go to www.avdw.com or www.secristdolls.com and look and see if you can find the face of the doll she bought. We have retired a few but most of them are still selling well.
Hope to hear from you
Sorry to hear about your mothers passing. Since she made dolls, I know she made a lot of people happy.
Hello, could you tell me the worth of a 1988 doll. On the back of the neck it says" Pat
Secrist" and it is signed "J Zook #96. It is in perfect condition and is a boy doll with light blue and white long sleeved sweater, blue pants and white shoes.
Can you please post a pic of it in our "artist showcase". I would have to see the doll and the face in order to give you any information on it. Also let me know if it's vinyl or porcelain. I'll look for your post there. :D
I can tell you that it was one of the Apple Valley Doll Works dolls created by Mr & Mrs Secrist. AVDW is the sister company of Secrist Dolls. They made the "Zook" line for many years. Zook is Mr Secrist's wifes maden name. Some time ago they decided to release for sale most all of the prototype dolls from that line. I believe most of them were priced/sold at $99 USD

Could you please send me a web site that tells me information about your Mother. I recently bought a doll on ebay that she made. I think his name was Solon Bell.
If you would please send the info to my email angelic44_99@yahoo.com I would really appreciate it.
I am a cancer survivor and my only hobby now is collecting dolls at a low price and I felt blessed to get this doll and want to know more about the maker(your mother). So glad I found this message of yours..
Kathy, That was an old post from 2008. I believe it was the only post that BillyDee ever did in forum. I don't even know if he came back to read the comments or not. You may want to google the name and company he gave in his post at the bottom to see if you can contact him. BOL on your search
If that doesn't work, you may want to contact "The Doll Lady". She has a monthly column in the "Doll Crafter" Magazine called Ask The Doll Lady. She is the most knowledgable person I have known about with regards to all kinds of dolls.
