Hi, I'm new on the forum. Been reborning for 8 months and am enjoy it very much.
Typically I have used Genesis Matte Varnish in thin coats, after I'm done painting, to combat shine on my dolls. I coat the entire doll and have loved how much the colors and details come through and look more like real baby skin. But the Matte can be somewhat rough in texture and it doesn't get all the shine. I came across the AR Shine Remover, and most of the info I've found on it is from 2010 and 2011. Recently I purchased some at the Secrist site. It appears to be softer in the jar than the product used to be, so I'm thinking it has been reformulated (?). I mixed it together real well before I began to use it. I used it for the first time today and have applied it in a very thin coat, pouncing it on. I've heat set it to 265. But the vinyl is coming out still very shiny, as if I've not put any of the product on the doll.
Is anyone else using this product? How are you applying it? Are you seeing most of the shine going away?
