I am wondering what I can use to weight my reborn baby? I have looked every where in my city for the pellets. No one carries them. I know they will be quite expensive to order online. So I am wondering what else will work.
i use sandblasting media.........it comes in differant sizes.......i believe i'm useing #20 but truth is i'm considering going to #16 as that wouldn't be as fine.......i get mine on ebay......sage
Some people have used aquarium gravel, a little crunchy sounding but it works for them. Have you checked with your local fabric store (ie: JoAnn's, Han****, etc). I used to get mine at JoAnn's but you had to either hunt or request.
What you never want to use is any metal (bb's, shot, ball bearings, etc) even if its stainless steel as at some point they will rust and not only ruin your baby but also can turn toxic. You also never, never want to use any kind of food stuff (rice, beans, etc) as that stuff is a health hazard in that it will decompose over time, also can draw bugs and rodents. Also, it can't be sent out of the country (if that is what you plan to do is sell them) because of those reasons.
If you google or look on ebay, etsy, or some doll sites, you may be able to get pellets in bulk or even free shipping. If you have any local doll or craft shops ask them. Sometimes they don't carry them but they may be able to order some in just for you! Hope this helps hun.
