Painted Hair: Tools of the Trade
Permalink

Hello Everyone,

I am new to this forum but wanted to introduce myself. My name is Jenn. I was wondering what type of and where to find brushes for painting hair on reborns. Also...I am in the market for a new set of the essential paint brushes needed to paint and was wondering if anyone could tell me where to find a moderately priced set. I am planning on trying my hand at painted hair soon. If anyone could direct me to a tutorial on the subject that would also be greatly appreciated.

Thanks....I look forward to meeting you all,

Hugs,

Jenn

On the Secrist site (www.secristdolls.com) they have several sets of brushes. I find that even though the professional set is a little more, it's well worth it. They are quality brushes and I have several sets of them. I have tried 2 sets of the lesser priced ones and they lose hairs way to much for my taste. They are good for beginners though, if you're not sure you want to get into the biz or not.

Otherwise you can usually get good brushes at Michael's craft store but you'll buy them individually as they usually don't carry the set that Secrist has put together for us.

Secrist also has a nice script liner brush that is excellent for painting hair. You can probably find a tutorial on youtube on painting hair or maybe google it.

Oh thank you so much...I was trying to find them on Secrist since I want to give this company business before anyone else wherever possible. Could you point me in the right direction as to what tabs or parts of the website to look at? I am VERY interested in the brushes that you say are available. I appreciate your help and plan to definitely check it out...you're right sometimes splurging on the more expensive things pay off in the long run and could be a matter of substantial differences in the price you are able to sell your baby for.
Thanks again and many hugs,
Jenn
