Hello, I finished my first baby Dakota and she came out so cute! However I was wondering I started another and not liking the color can you repaint the veins and start over once you have started or does the kit have to be trown away?? and which are the best to guy peach or pink? I don't like a real pale baby thanks for any advise
If your wanting to re-paint then you can strip her old paint off with acetone or paint thinner :) but don't throw her away !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please !
I agree.... don't throw the kit away! That's whats nice about Genesis, you can get do-overs! Yes, strip her back and start again, but do it gently. Then wash the kit in hot soapy water to remove the residue. Try not to rub while removing the paints. Then just start again. I personally do not care for the pink kits. But I have done them. I just do a color-correction before I start really painting them. Check the search feature for color-correcting threads.
I personally prefer the peachy kits :) Other's like the pink because they do more newly born babies. It's really personal preference.
I had to get a pink to get muffin , because they were out of peach ! But I would have gotten the peach I will be searching for color correction stuff !
I also like to buy peach. It's just better to start off with and color correction is easier. I've done pink before and well, the paints didn't come out the way I hoped.
What is the best thing to use to remove the paint i don't like ?? I have some oderless paint thininer and also some mineral spirits but I can get some other stuff if i need to thanks for your help
ps she has been baked

Hummm I'll let someone who's more experienced with that answer that one
I've used the thinner very carefully with a Q-tip but you really have to be careful with it. I've heard others say they use acetone. So idk I'll let someone else telly you more about that one. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
acetone will take it off even if its been baked, some ppl use windsor and newton bruch cleaner /remover. someppl say the acetone can make your kit a little orangey.............sage
The Winsor & Newton is good if you have it. Also, Secrist used to sell a vinyl cleaner that would remove ink and paint. Other than that I just use acetone. With some kits it will turn an orangy color but you can always do a color correction on your base coat. Be sure not to rub hard as this will make the vinyl shiny and paint may not stick. I believe there is a thread in forum on how to or what not to do when stripping. NEVER use Goof-Off!
