It's apparently a members only forum. We can't get in to read, can you just post the jist of the scam please?

There are counterfeit Money Orders going around and a lady tried to cash one that she got for a reborn for $495 and they confiscated the MO and she was out the money and the doll! She cannot get in touch with the people now, and there is an investigation...that's the gist. So beware. I thought this was safer than a personal check, but I guess not. maybe better to wait for a personal check to clear and then send the doll... Sounds like this person sent the doll before getting the MO>

Thanks for elaborating on this. When I do an auction if someone wants to pay with check or money order, I do let them know that I cannot ship the baby till the money clears. Just like I don't start an order without 1/2 down. Most people are pretty ok with that.

I feel bad for that seller! :( Darned dishonest people! And they'll probably turn around and sell it so they get money and the evidence is gone. If I were that lady I would closely watch evilbay to see if they repost the doll for sale.

One thing we do in our ebay auctions, for people who want to use a money order, is insist on postal money orders. Just a suggestion.

Yes, or a certified bank check. Otherwise I have told them that I must wait for the money order to clear before shipping their order.
