Ha ve you got your contents insured? When our desk top blue up, we where able to get new for old, with a $50 access. Talk able troubles with computers, yesterday I didnt stop getting the same picture email all day. I was tearing my hair out. got it about 20 odd times from my sister as she is out of range I could only contact her last night, but hers said it only was sent once. Hopefully we will be OK today as Mandee wheninto the account to stop it. XXXXXX June.

Oh no Pat!! I feel for ya!! My desktop did the same thing a few months back and I still am having issues getting the information off it I need. I have a couple of people on AWRAF that I owe logos to, but the info is on the desktop!!

Wow that is terrible! We have had our share of problems with our computer, but thankfully it hasn't blown up. I truly hope you can get things repaired and in working order without a lot of fuss very soon.

June... sadly my computer is out of warranty. Has been for over a year. (I think they plan this kind of thing you know hahaha).
Anyway, I won't be able to get it fixed now until after April 10th when I drive to Denver to be with my oldest daughter for the birth of her first baby. The baby's daddy is a computer tech but can't fix it long distance. He thinks the mother board is fried! Sooooo... I'm stuck with this old relick of a laptop. It takes forever to do anything, has extremely little memory (was upgraded from a windows 98 to windows xp). But at least I CAN post and answer questions in forum. Just seems to take me forever.

I'm taking my trashed desktop, my old desktop from 4 years ago, and my ancient laptop out there with me so he can maybe make 1 out of the bunch! Otherwise he'll have to try to find parts. I have the hard drive from the old one, and my Amanda's bf took some of the other parts but also left some. I just need to get allllll my pics and info off this desktop hard drive. I can't afford to lose any of it. I got pics to post and can't because like you Kim... they're all on the other hard drive! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Ashley, I'm sorry your fb account got deleated. I do know that they have been clamping down on under 18's that have those accounts. But check with them as it might have been deleted by mistake.

Hahaha, that's funny Kim... my daughter and her tech guy bought me a huge capacity external harddrive for Christmas... he transfered some of my stuff over to it and I was supposed to tx my pics and other important stuff to it... however... "I" DIDN'T and so now my daughter Dani is getting on my case saying "We told you to do a backup!" So, guess this is one time when the parent should have listened to the kid? lol funny but not really :(

I am hoping I'll come home with a "working" computer :o

Nothing will be done to it until I go to Denver on April 9th. Still on the prehistoric laptop. It's very temperamental. Some days it's not tooooo bad (lol) and other days I can walk to the next state faster than this thing will go! hahaha.

I am hoping my daughter's partner will be able to fix it or if that fails, just make me a new one. I'm bring the recently dead desktop and my other old one so maybe there will be enough good parts to make one good one *crosses fingers*. I'm bringing this old laptop with me on the trip so I don't have to go through forum- withdrawals! :D Also bringing my sewing/embroidery machine, surger, and of course babies to root!

Here's an update on my trip... (sorry, no update on the computer, it's still dead lol)...
I am now leaving on Apr 3rd instead of the 9th. My daughter has gestational diabetes and on insulin injections so they want to induce her and do it a week early. I will leave on Apr 3 to get to Denver Apr 5th which is when they want her to come to the hospital to have the baby.
I just got a job at a jewelry store last week and they are being really nice and letting me take off 3 weeks to go out and be with my daughter and my new granddaughter. Then I come back to work on Easter Monday. I am excited but nervous about traveling over 950 miles alone and also worried I will run into flooding. But, God willing, it will all be ok.

According to my daughter Dani, little Mara (my new to be granddaughter) weighs and estimated 6# 4oz and has LOTS of hair. You know I'll be taking many pics of the hair for forum! hehehe
I will probably not be on forum the 3rd till I get to the motel in Nebraska in the evening. Then I probably won't be on till the 6th because I'll be at the hospital with Dani, waiting for the baby to come. I'll try to bring a little notebook computer that a friend of mine gave me. It's not bad but the power cord keeps disconnecting. So we'll see what happens. Just wanted to give you all an update. :D

Have a safe journey, I think it will fly, the time on the trip I mean. Here in Oz they don't go into hospital, they just keep monitoring them all the time.My 19 yr 2nd niece Jess is due in July and has to do all that, so does one of the ladies from Macey's school. Best Wishes, safe delivery of Mara. Funny Pat we have a lot of things in common. My daughter Tamara gets called Aunty Mara. XXXXX June.

Prayers and good thoughts to you all for an easy and safe arrival for both Dani and Mara. I do know a lot about gestational diabetes and insulin injections, I had it with all 3 of my children but the worst with my last. It has probably been a long hard road for her, she is probably feeling relieved it is almost over. The beautiful bundle is worth it all.

I hope you have a safe and happy trip. Take lots of pictures, and have fun with your new granddaughter aww

Thank you so much everyone. I'll take more pics than you thought you'd ever see hahaha. My daughter Amanda finally gets to be an Auntie! She is excited. She will fly out to Denver after this next weekend to see her neice Mara. I will take a ton of pics, of hands, feet, hair, wrinkles, on and on and on hahaha. I'll post the good detailed ones so everyone can see the hair and stuff and we can do better on rooting :)

I will be staying 3 weeks unless she gets tired of me. :o If/when her partner gets my desktop going again (crosses fingers!) I will be able to post pics as soon as the day/night she is born. I am so very excited but also nervous for Dani.
Yes Danielle, she has been through a lot with this. She goes in twice a week and gets her insulin regulated and is on the long acting stuff but they also now have put her on the short acting too. She will still have to do the shots for a few weeks after Mara is born till they can see it's gone.

Yes June, we sure do have a lot in common. Thats funny :D

Update...
Well, as you can see I have answered a bunch of questions in forum tonight. I get free wifi at the hotel I'm staying in. Left Minneapolis this morning and I made it as far as Lincoln, Nebraska. I hear tell it's about 500 more miles to drive tomorrow. Didn't get much sleep the past 2 nights, I think I was anxious about the trip.

Well, 2 more days and hopefully my granddaughter will be here. Since Dani has been telling women about being induced, they are telling her about how bad it will be. Now she's really nervous about it and wants an epidural! I know she doesn't know what that will feel like. I had one with my youngest, Amanda for my cesarean. Ok, going to bed now, 7 AM comes early! HUGS my forum family and thanks for all the good wishes!

If she has an epidural, make sure she doesn't get an infection. That can be very cruel. Hope all goes well, tell her being induced is no big deal.Been there done that. LOL, poor little Darling. I have to say I would rather go into labor naturally like I did with my first son, but being induced with my other two wasn't that bad. It's like everything else in life, it will all depend on her individual experience. We are all so alike in so many ways as humans, yet all so different too wink

I'm looking forward to all the pictures of a fresh new little babe aww I wish you the best trip ever! God bless you all.

THanks everyone! Here is an update...
I am now officially a GRAMMA! Dani was induced on Tues, she went 24 hours and stopped progressing at 6 dialation and 90% effaced. After 6 more hours and no progress, they decided to do a cesarean. Little Mara Tess Magnus Lapre-Collins was born by c-section at 3:08 Thursday morning. 7 pounds 10 ounces, 20.5' long with big lungs! She has wavy dark hair.
I have taken and will take many many pics and will post when my desktop is working again. HUGS :D

I am still waiting for my desktop to be fixed but he was waiting for Mara so it's not been done yet. i was able to post some pics on facebook with Dani's computer. I'll just go in and right click save and see if I can get them posted today.

I am so enjoying my time with the baby. Even when she keeps everyone up all night lol. My Daughter Dani still has issues with her cesarean incision's healing and still has extremely swollen feet and legs from the delivery. But her milk is now in fully so she is diong better with that.
Used to be in the hospital, they would show new moms how to bathe their babies. Nope, apparently not any longer, so today I will help her bathe little Mara Tess. She is very worried that she won't be able to take care of her, or she will do something wrong. She is 35 and this is her first baby (and will be the only one). The baby's daddy is bi-polar and not on meds so it's interesting. He had a son with his former wife but the baby died at 3 weeks old from SIDS, so it's kinda tense sometimes. He runs hot and cold and presents himself as an expert and I think Dani is intimidated. But I keep telling her she is diong a find job as a mommy and she will continue to do well. So, didn't mean to go on so long but I'm going to go post some pics in the showcase. :D

Just remind her that every new mom, regardless of age and circumstance, is a NEW mom, and it's scary sometimes. Even my 3rd one, I was scared I was gonna hurt him he was so tiny when he was born. She'll be fine!!

Thanks Kim. It was very hard to leave them today to come back to Minneapolis. I hugged baby Mara and cried. And my daugher too. Dani's post partum depression worries me. She keeps saying she doesn't feel right because she didn't have a natural birth and push the baby out. Also she feels like she isn't taking care of her how she should be. And also that she doesn't know what to do when baby cries after being nursed, burped, changed, and everything. She sayswhat's left? I have tried to comfort her telling her she's being a good mommy.
I got my desktop computer fixed and got more RAM put in so now it has 3 GB of memory. All I have to do now is get home and set it up again. We were able to save all my info that way on the hard drive. All my 10,000+ photos are being transfered to my external hard drive.

He even doubled the RAM on my old laptop I was using :D

I should have my desktop plugged in and running by fri nite (hopefully). This little mini laptop has isssues (or maybe it's just me hahaha). But at least I had some kind of computer to use in the interum. I got badk EAster Sunday but have to work the next 4 days/nights so fri will be busy setting things up again!

Ok, it might be Monday till I get it up and running as I have been working some crazy hours since I got back. My day off is Monday and only have 1 appointment. I can't wait to get things back to normal. lol
