I think I goofed. I have Molly Margaret (Kyra) all painted and I really like her. Now I've started working on her hair. I read that it is a good idea to use a watercolor pencil to mark the hairline, etc. Well, I did that, but I think my pencil was too dark or something. I market the hairline too low, and when I tried to rub it off most of the pencil came off, but there is still a line there that I can't get off. Oh NO She already has her eyes in (but not glued yet) and a bunch of hair in. I'm afraid all I can do is pull the hair and take out her eyes, wash her good and then do another coat of skin and blush, etc.
If it's a Prismacolor pencil maybe you can take an eraser to it. It's not supposed to set in that quickly. Unless anyone else has any ideas, you may just have to give her a wash. Have you tried soap and water?
Thanks Pat. Yup, I did give her a good bath, but it was still there. It was watercolor pencil, so it should have come off. Then I took pure dishwashing liquid without any water and smeared it all over the marks and left it for about 1/2 hour and washed her again with a sponge. Much more of it came off. At least the part over her forehead. It is still pretty dark where her back hairline is, but I'm planning on giving her dark hair, so it probably won't show. I did pull out all her hair. There really wasn't that much, about 2 hours worth. I don't like the needles I'm using anyway, and am waiting for my 42g German forked which should come in a day or two. I sure hope I can figure out how to use them.
By the way, did you see my post about Needles?
Somehow I feel as if I post so much that you've become my personal trainer!! Thank you.
Oh, I'm sorry you pulled out her hair :( Did you try the pencil eraser? I thought maybe that might work (but lightly so as not to rub off her paint or make her shiny).
And as far as having too many hairs in one hole, you can always take a tweezer and pull out the ones you don't want before you glue inside the head.
I did post to your needle dilema hun.
Sometimes people post a lot, sometimes not. It's ok. Hmmm, personal trainer eh? lol One reason why I started teaching one-on-one :) and you're welcome
